What wildlife can I expect to see during a safari?

Tanzania is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including:

The Big Five: Lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos.

The Great Migration: Over two million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles migrate through the Serengeti and Maasai Mara.

Birdlife: More than 1,000 bird species, including flamingos, crowned cranes, and vultures.

Other Animals: Giraffes, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, and countless species of antelope.

Are Tanzania safaris family-friendly?

Yes, Tanzania safaris are an excellent choice for families. Many lodges and camps cater to families with kid-friendly activities, private guides, and comfortable accommodations. Activities like walking safaris, cultural visits to local villages, and shorter game drives can be tailored for children. Always consult with your safari operator to design an itinerary suitable for all ages.

What is the best time to go on a safari in Tanzania?

The best time to visit Tanzania for a safari depends on what you want to experience:

June to October: Ideal for wildlife viewing and the Great Migration in the Serengeti. The weather is dry, and animals gather around water sources, making them easier to spot.

January to March: This is the calving season in the southern Serengeti, where you can witness newborn animals and predator-prey interactions.

April and May: While these are part of the rainy season, lodges offer discounted rates, and the landscapes are lush and green.
